SportStar Manufacturer
Evektor spol. s.r.o. of the Czech Republic was established in 1970 for the manufacture of small aircraft, including the Vivat motor glider and an autogyro. They also manufactured, under licence, the Pottier P-220 Koala ultralight, from which the Eurostar and SportStar series have been developed.
The company has three core businesses - aeronautical, automotive and general engineering. With almost 500 employees and growing, 2006 turnover was in excess of US$68 million. Key customers include Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Boeing and Let Aircraft. Evektor's engineering design capability is outstanding, using a wide range of state of the art CNC equipment.
The SportStar design and manufacturing plant at Kunovice, one of several Evektor locations in the Czech Republic, is both ISO 9001 and EASA Part 21 accredited for aircraft production, with all components traceable and quality proven.
At the present time, apart from the SportStar, the company manufactures other aircraft including:
- the EuroStar 450/480kg ultralight - in both kit and factory finished form.
- the VUT100 Cobra & Super Cobra - a 4-seat GA aircraft which is currently testing for full worldwide EASA certification; the prototype first flew in November 2004, with first customer deliveries expected in 2008.
- the EV55 - a twin turboprop engine, high wing 9-12-seat or cargo aircraft, is under development, with its maiden flight expected in 2007.
