First two NVFR SportStars delivered in January
The first two Night VFR rated SportStars will be delivered to their proud owners in early January 2008. Cloud Dancer Sport Aircraft (our representatives in WA) are taking delivery of VH-CDS in the same paint scheme as their current aircraft, VH-CDR (which was the very first Light Sport Aircraft - LSA - to be registered in Australia). VH-CDR is now on the ultralight register with RAAus and is on duty for flying training at Bunbury, WA.

The second NVFR SportStar registered VH-DXK will be delivered to Wimmera Aero Club and be based at Warracknabeal and be used for flying training.

Congratulations to both new owners and best wishes for many hours of happy flying!

Australian SportStars clock up record flying hours
The entire Australian SportStar fleet is now approaching a total of 20,000 flying hours! The top four SportStars flying in Australia have clocked up almost 7,000 hours flying between them. The hours have been a mixture of flying training, hire and private use by the owners.

Top of the list are the three RAAus registered SportStars at Adelaide Biplanes, based at Aldinga Airfield, a few kilometres to the south of Adelaide - led by 24-4399. The fourth SportStar - 24-4499 - based at Gympie with Suncoast Cooloola Flying has almost reached its 1,500 hour engine overhaul time.

There are several other SportStars recording in excess of 500 flying hours.

These aircraft are well ahead even of USA SportStars in flying schools. Many thanks to Martyn Smith, CFI at Adelaide Biplanes and Jennifer Beck, instructor at Suncoast for an (almost) incident free record!
